Moscow
Moscow. Upon arrival at Moscow airport you'll be met and transferred to your hotel. The rest of the day is free for you to relax.
Day 2 is free for you to explore the capital or book an optional Moscow walking tour where you’ll visit Red Square, home to the historic GUM department store, Lenin’s mausoleum and the iconic St Basil’s Cathedral.

On board the train
Moscow - Ulaan Baatar - breakfast. Spend day 3 at leisure in the capital before your evening transfer to Yaroslavl rail station for the train to Ulaan Baatar. Settle into life on board the Trans-Mongolian Express as it winds its way east.
Days 4 - 7 are spend on board the train which follows well-worn ancient tea caravan routes. Travelling via Irkutsk and skirting along the shores of breathtaking Lake Baikal, enjoy the views as your journey continues via far Eastern Siberia. The train branches off the main Trans-Siberian line at a place called Zaudinsky, which lies just beyond Ulan Ude.

Mongolia
Ulaan Baatar. On the morning of day 8 the train pulls into Ulaan Baatar, the laid-back provincial capital of Mongolia set in the rolling foothills of the Bogd mountain range on the banks of the Tuul River. Transfer to your hotel and spend four days at leisure exploring the city. Or book an optional two night excursion to Terelj National Park:
Terelj National Park & ger camp add-on: Upon arrival into Ulaan Baatar on day 8 transfer to nearby Terelj National Park, stopping for lunch and visiting Turtle Rock en route. With scenic alpine surrounds this protected area is host to diverse flora and fauna and famous for its unique granite rock formations. Spend two nights camping out in a Mongolian ger on the steppe. On day 10 transfer back to Ulaan Baatar stopping to visit a nomadic family en route. Then spend day 11 at leisure in the capital.

Train to Beijing
Ulaan Baatar - Beijing. Morning transfer to the rail station for your onward train to Beijing. Beyond Ulaan Baatar the landscape becomes a panorama of uninterrupted steppe. Continuing south the train enters original Gobi country, then continues on to the border, where after formalities the train crosses into Chinese territory on day 12. On day 13 travel through the Shaanxi province of China en route to the capital. Arrival scheduled for mid-afternoon into Beijing where your Trans Siberian adventure comes to an end.
