Princes Islands

1 day  |   from   $ 155

Located in the Sea of Marmara off the coast of Istanbul, the Princes’ Islands are a chain of nine islands offering a peaceful retreat from the hustle and bustle of Turkey’s largest city. There are no cars on the islands and the main mode of transportation is horse and cart or bicycle, giving the islands a wonderful nostalgic vibe. Buyukada is the largest island of the nine and one of the most attractive with two peaks and gingerbread-style villas lining the slopes.

Day 1 - Princes' Islands
On our one day tour of the Buyukada Island we begin with a 7am transfer to the port for a boat trip across the Marmara Sea. Buyukada is the most-visited of the Princes’ Islands, a colourful and charming summer resort with plenty to see and do. Walking through the historic Ottoman ferry terminal you emerge in the bustling town centre, filled with a collection of quaint shops and restaurants. Just off Dock Square we board a horse-drawn carriage for a short tour of the town including the shores of the island and the green-covered hills. With private vehicles and taxis banned on the island, this really is the only way to get around! Lunch is enjoyed at a local seafood restaurant offering stunning views out across the Marmara Sea. Later return back to Istanbul by ferry with an included transfer to your hotel at 5pm.
